Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar, observed by Muslims worldwide as a month of fasting, prayer, reflection and community. In India, Ramadan 2020 is expected to begin on the evening of Friday, 24 April 2020. We wish every one a happy and blissful Ramadan. This year, holy month will be very different due to the Coronavirus outbreak. It is more important than ever therefore to ensure that people who are living with diabetes remain safe and healthy.

Fasting (Roza) during the holy month of Ramadan is one of the five pillars of Islam. Holy Quran exempts individuals from fasting if they are suffering from an illness with a provision to make up for it later.1,2 It is essential that people with diabetes consult their doctor before taking any decision.
